Creative Mentorship

I believe in a future where you are well resourced and supported in sharing the work you were meant to create. The hardest work is best done with a tender and compassionate community around us. When you work with me, I become part of your community.

I work with artists and creatives who wish to make and share meaningful work. The world is eager to hear your unique voice. Together we will identify your challenges and empower you to advocate for yourself while learning how to share vulnerable work in professional settings. This may include readying yourself for artist talks, negotiating/communicating with institutions, answering questions about your work, or developing new work.

Trauma-Informed Coaching

As creatives, survivors, and people working for a more just and equitable world, we are often asked to engage with our traumas in public and professional settings. Yet those same places often do not provide the supports we so desperately need. Together we can get honest about the barriers you experience towards your goals, both internal and external. So you can better manifest your dreams and projects.

Trauma-informed means I seek to understand the ways trauma has impacted your ability to navigate creative work. I understand traumas as both individual and cultural, ranging from childhood abuse, sexual assault, to systemic oppression, state violence, etc. I provide a compassionate place to investigate how these wounds and patterns may be keeping you from showing up as you would like. Our primary goal is to keep you moving forward.

I do not offer trauma counseling.

I am not a therapist and working with me does not replace working with a therapist. If issues beyond the scope of my training arise, I will refer you to seek additional support.

“Working with Heather was so beneficial to my business. Brainstorming ideas with someone who knows the art & craft world so well and shares my values [racial justice] gave me a supportive place to grow.
